GRASSY RIDGE CONSULTING
Dr. Glenn Rogers is a beef veterinarian with over 38 years’ experience in supporting cattle health and well-being in clinical practice, teaching, research and technical service. He is uniquely qualified to provide practical and professional consulting services to ranchers, working cooperatively with veterinarians and other advisors to achieve optimal health management and production goals. Dr. Rogers’ approach to cattle and ranch health issues can best be described as holistic, practical and comprehensive – de-emphasizing, but prudently incorporating, product based solutions. After graduation from Texas A&M in 1980, Dr. Rogers practiced for eleven years in the West Cross Timbers area of Texas where he owned and operated two rural, mixed practices. Glenn received his Master’s from Kansas State University in 1993 focusing on Beef Production Medicine. From 1993-2000 he was on the faculty at North Carolina State University where he was a tenured associate professor in Ruminant Production Medicine. Dr. Rogers has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Beef Cattle since 1995. At the end of 2012, Dr. Rogers departed Pfizer Animal Health after a highly successful twelve-year career in field technical support and colleague management to devote more time to his ranching operation and ranch consulting business.
Dr. Rogers is a 6th generation “ranching Texan” and is actively involved in his family’s ranching operation in Palo Pinto County, Texas, where he manages a beef heifer development business and cow/calf operation. He is an active member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP), National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raiser’s Association and several other beef and veterinary organizations. Dr. Rogers currently serves as President-Elect of AABP and previously as Director from District 8 (representing Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana) and as chairman of the Foundation. In 2007, Dr. Rogers was honored with the Pfizer W.E. Upjohn Award for innovation. This award is one of the highest honors given to Pfizer employees.
